FAQ: Why doesn’t Amazon use live chat for customer service?

Actually, they do use live chat!

Actually, Amazon does have a live chat. The only thing you have to do is log in to your account and fill out some pre-contact questions before contacting them, which is very helpful to you and them because as they are a very big company they often deal with irrelevant questions and chats.

A common misconception is that Amazon doesn’t have a live chat feature to contact their customer service team. Most likely because people can’t find it. However, they do use live chat, among other forms of support, to offer customer support to their users.

Here’s how to find and access Amazon’s live chat:

  • Go to Amazon.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of Amazon and click on their Help page. (Or click the link to go straight to the help page)

  • Click on the “Need more help?” Option from the menu. And then click on “Contact us” (you can also use this link to go directly to the Contact us page)

  • You’ll get a page where you need to fill out a “questionnaire” related to the issue you have and the reason why you want to contact Amazon. After you fill out all the details, you’ll get 3 options for contacting Amazon, including a Chat option. And that’s it. You’ve found the Live Chat option from Amazon.

When you click on the Chat button, a pop-up window will appear (so make sure to unblock popups for Amazon if you haven’t already) where you can enter more information and finally get connected with an Amazon representative.

The Amazon representatives are always helpful, fast to respond, and available for any kind of help. They’ve helped me dozens of times, so a big shoutout to them!

It’s a shame not many people know about Amazon’s live chat, but maybe that’s the reason why they’re so good since they’re not too busy taking too many requests at the same time.

But, it’s not available everywhere

However, the chat isn’t available in all countries because they would have to hire massive amount of people to monitor the chats for every different country or hire an international staff.

They have one of the best customer service reps!

The chat, by the way, is very helpful. Their customer service is one of the best, they are very polite and will do their best to help you with your inquiries or problems.
